Welcome Ed Bowden

I’ve always been interested in what makes people tick.

This interest guided me to study psychology at university, where I gained an understanding of people and groups as well as sound research methods. My greatest takeaway from this degree was not to trust your intuition in isolation, as most situations and individuals have hidden driving factors. One field in which I found this especially relevant was the fascinating study of drug use and addiction.

To tailor my knowledge and be more employable in the hectic graduate job market I decided to take a year to develop my understanding of marketing, brand management and strategy. I found marketing to be a great way to structure my interest in people and their behaviour in a productive way. Along the way I become very interested in the intersect between people and brands, as well as the strategic decisions which brands make. During this time, I undertook a research project which looked to establish what factors drive consumers’ preferences within pubs. This project, and the strictly necessary pubs trips for ‘research purposes’, were thoroughly enjoyable as they showed me the value in consumer perceptions and the ways in which they can be leveraged to boost a brand’s offering.

Outside of work and education I love sport. After a long amateur boxing career that ended due to injury, I am now enjoying engaging with new sports such as squash and yoga to stay in mental and physical shape. Beyond this I love spending time with my family, most notably my one-eyed spaniel Shadow, whose been somewhat blindly following me for the majority of both of our lives.

I could not be happier to be beginning my career at TVE. Their varied clients, great ways of working and most of all the lovely team have ensured that I have had an amazing start.

I am very excited to see what my future at TVE will hold!
