TVE introduces Caroline Camm, our summer intern

The Value Engineers have been on my radar for just over a year. I knew I wanted a creative and analytical job that would combine the parts of marketing and branding that appeal to me with consulting. With that in mind, the TVE internship couldn’t have been a better fit. I applied in March and the process of writing about a brand I was passionate about (I chose John Lewis) was just as enjoyable as being interviewed in the London office.

After being given the offer, I was really excited to start and find out exactly what I would be doing. After a couple of months trying to explain strategic brand consulting to friends and family, it was a relief to know I had captured the essence of it! Just 5 days after I graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in History, I moved down to London and started at TVE.

I am now two and a half weeks into the role, and the experience is already more than I had hoped for. The team are friendly and engaging, and the office atmosphere is fast-paced, stimulating and collaborative. So far I have worked on a number of projects, with tasks including trend research, data analysis and creating presentation that tell engaging and compelling stories. From the quality of research to the smallest details of presentation, TVE has rigorous standards and I am learning fast. I love the variety of the role and am particularly enjoying how I get to work with, and learn from, the many talented and lovely individuals in the office.

When I’m not at university I live in Solihull (West Midlands), and so the opportunity of working in a central London office was something I jumped at. TVE is really close to the National Gallery, which is a place I know and love, and I am also enjoying wandering down the streets of Soho and Covent Garden on my lunchbreak with friends from the office.

I am really looking forward to the rest of the internship and seeing how much more I can learn from this experience.
