We all know that walking is a simple exercise and it can boost our fitness and weight loss. However, who would think that something as simple as the kind of surface we walk on could have an effect on the amount of calories we burn? This leads us to this week’s factoid:

“A person will burn 7% more calories by walking on rough ground instead of a smooth surface”
