For years Coca-Cola was known for its focus on a very small number of brands. The story was they felt that as Coke only had a very small share of total throat (c 2% of everything we drink) then it still had significant opportunities to grow its original brands and so didn’t need to build a bigger portfolio.
How things have changed- in its review of the Fortune 500, the May 21st issue notes Coca-Cola now owns a portfolio of 15 brands that have retail sales exceeding $1 billion a year
The question is can you name them? (without resorting to the internet to find out – I only got 9)
And the bonus question how many were born outside the USA?
